It’s amazing what pops out of the woodwork when you open a community cinema in Balerno. For all of those fans of film shorts, we have a bit of a treat for you in advance of our screening of ‘The Odd Couple’. Local amateur film producer Craig Henderson has offered us the opportunity to screen ‘Norman’ – a light-hearted comedy about a romantic fantasist – it really is rather good. 

The film was produced for the 2011 Glasgow 48 Hour Film Project. Competing teams were asked to make a four to eight minute film which included the character, Norman MacKenzie, cleaner, a prop of a Ring, and the line of dialogue “Do I know you?”. Amazingly the film was entirely written, shot, edited and raced along the M8 to Glasgow for submission within 48 hours. The film picked up several awards.

Balerno based Craig Henderson co-wrote, produced, directed and with no small amount of embarrassment, starred in Norman. He is now writing a screenplay for his first feature film.
