Another sunny Saturday in Balerno and the BVS kicked off with our matinee A Monster In Paris on our super duper computer assisted projector funded by the City of Edinburgh Council. A full house of children and parents gave a hundred per cent attention to this interesting animated musical.
Next up our very discerning four o’clock audience showed up in force for the tense thriller Argo (our first ever 15 rated movie). This film had some words that were not swear words but the cosmopolitan citizens of Balerno took this in their stride and gave the movie the thumbs up.
A quick turnaround by our crack team of volunteers led to a seven o’clock showing of Argo in both St Joseph’s with the colossal screen donated by Mike Blair and the Ogston with the aforementioned top of the range projector. This meant that over 150 people had the chance to enjoy the feature. Judging by the audience reaction the night was a great success.
Thanks again to the people of Balerno for turning up for our screenings, for being enthusiastic , generous and supportive. I say you are all great Balerno-ites.
