Balerno Village Screen is delighted to host a screening by Dyslexia Scotland of the inspirational and award winning film The Big Picture: Rethinking Dyslexia.
[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ueaDO8IS4Dk&w=560&h=315]
Directed by Robert Redford’s son, it tells of his family’s personal experiences, challenges and struggles with helping their son achieve his dream of getting to university. By following his journey as well as other children with humour and insight, it shows how many myths and misconceptions there are about Dyslexia and how it offers gifts as well as challenges.
Everyone of any age is encouraged to come along, whether or not affected by the condition. Admission is free although donations for Dyslexia Scotland are welcome. The film lasts about 50 minutes and there will be a chance to get information and ask questions of representatives of Dyslexia Scotland after the film.
Tea and coffee will be served in what we know will be a welcoming, fun and interesting event. Our films are free to attend – we are funded by donations.
