The first season of Balerno Village Screen has come to an end – we’re having a rest over the summer and we will be back in September.

For the first time, we screened over two weekends in June. We started with the captivating animation The Illusionist and followed that with a sell out of Life of Pi.

Then on Sunday, in association with Edinburgh Festival of Cycling, we screened Janapar – Love on a Bike – a fantastic story of cycling, travel, adventure and love. We had a huge turnout including some new faces – most notably Jim fae Torphicen who had a last minute dash across the country when he found out we had a few spaces left on the night! For those of you that made it along, we hope you enjoyed the Q&A with Tom and Tenny afterwards.

Our first season has been a fantastic adventure with many many highs (too many to mention here). And we have to say a huge thank you to the folks of Balerno and surrounding areas for turning out in huge numbers to support and enjoy our community cinema.

We wish you all a fantastic summer and we’ll see you in the autumn when we return in September with Les Misérables.
