Friday saw a loyal band of regulars celebrating thirty years since the making of Local Hero. A very chilled out evening of cinematic glory from the quietly briiliant Bill Forsyth.
Next a well attended matinee of the animated movie Epic with all children and adults very well behaved.
The finale of the weekend came on Saturday night with 140 people in St Joseph’s to watch the fantastic The Angels’ Share and the amazing time lapse film Kinetic Scotland: The East. In an astonishing coup de theatre for our wee cinema the ingenuous maker of Kinetic East Walid Salhab graciously agreed to attend the screening. Further, the superb Paul Laverty who has written more than a dozen movies with Ken Loach and several other distinguished directors (including Iciar Bollain) was present to introduce The Angels’ Share and generously agreed to stay for a question and answer session after the movies.
All this combined with sponsorship from Glengoyne Distillery and home made tablet made for a truly special night at the pictures.

Next up will be our Christmas screening of It’s a Wonderful Life – details to follow soon.
And to ensure we allow as many people to attend as possible, if you have reserved a ticket and can no longer attend please let us know either via email or cancelling you ticket.
See you later in the month.
