Colin Cloud – Forensic Mind Reader & Good Vibrations

Balerno Village Screen has secured the attendance of the amazing Fringe Star, Colin Cloud, Forensic Mindreader to do a performance before we screen Good Vibrations on Friday 3rd October. We are soooo excited to have such a talented up and coming star in the cinema!

“GENIUS … Truly amazed. Go and see him – you literally won’t believe your eyes” *****Edinburgh Reporter

Colin is trying out new material before he flies the following day to New York where NBC have commissioned his own TV show – we are delighted to help out!

His show is funny and mind blowing and a recent video of him in action is below.

Good Vibrations for the Music Festival

Thank you to everyone who came along to Balerno Village Screen this weekend – we had a fantastic turnout for some great films and it is always good to see some new faces (the image above was the packed house for Lego).

And from September we move to October in the shape of the 7th Balerno Music Festival. On Friday 3rd October, we will be screening Good Vibrations, an insight into 70s Belfast, a record shop and punk music of course. This films gets fantastic reviews!

Then on Wednesday 8th October, in association with Dyslexia Scotland,  we are showing The Big Picture: Rethinking Dyslexia – a film directed by Dylan Redford.

Balerno Music Festival

Preparations for the SEVENTH Balerno Music Festival are well underway and there will be a wide variety of musical events coming to the village this autumn. As part of the festival, Balerno Village Screen will be screening Good Vibrations.

The film is a vibrant, hilarious and inspirational biopic of Terri Hooley, Belfast’s “Godfather of Punk,” whose upstart record shop and music label Good Vibrations became the hub of the city’s nascent ’70s punk scene and a voice of resistance to the sectarian violence of the Troubles.
